Administrator types and permissions

The table below explains the administrator types and permissions in the Security scree.

Administrator type Description Creating users Applying and removing permissions

Database Administrator (or "Database Admin")

Database Admin is the highest level of administrator.

Database Admins can create the following users:

  • Administrators (or "Watson Admins").

  • Property Administrators (or "Security Admins").

  • Normal users.

Note: The only restriction applied to Database Admins is that they cannot create other Database Admins.

Database Admins can do the following:

  • Apply group permissions to normal users.

  • Add and remove permissions to lower-level users.

Administrators (or "Watson Admin") with the Watson Admin option selected for individual properties on the Properties tab

Administrators have the same permission as Database Administrators, but only for the selected properties.

Administrators can create:

  • Property Administrators (or "Security Admins").

  • Normal users

Administrators can do the following:

  • Apply group permissions to normal users.

  • Add and remove permissions to lower-level users.

Property Administrators (or "Security Admin") without the Watson Admin option selected for individual properties on the Properties tab

Property Administrators can have security permissions removed from them.

Property Administrators can create normal users with security permissions equal to or less than their own permissions.

Property Administrators cannot add or remove group permissions.
