Earning Type Pay Mappings

This is a list of earnings that should be included in total hours calculation used in overtime.

Example: If an employee is supposed to get weekly O/T over 40 hours and they work 34 hours, plus they are paid for 8 hours of holiday, they are usually not eligible for weekly overtime. However, if the pay rules need to include Holiday hours in the OT calculation, then the "Earning Type Pay Mappings" can be used to include those hours, which would result in 42 hours paid and 2 hours of overtime.

Example: Assume that an employee gets to include vacation and holiday in OT calcs, but not bereavement or sick hours. The configuration would look like this:

EarningType Include in OT Calcs

Vacation

Yes

Holiday

Yes

Bereavement

No

Sick

No

Based on the above, let's assume an employee has the following pay record for a week, and that the employee is eligible for OT for hours over 40.

Hours Type # of Hours Used for OT Calc

Hours Worked

30

Yes (default)

Holiday

8

Yes

Sick

8

No

The above employee WOULD NOT receive overtime pay. Even though they are being paid for a total of 46 hours (38+8+8), only 38 hours are designated to be used for the OT calc.

The above does not work with all Hours Distribution rules. As of 5.24.2016, it is only functional with:

  • OT DT Daily, Weekly, 7th Day in Work Week

  • OT DT Daily, Weekly, 6th Day OT, 7th Day DT

  • OT DT Daily, Weekly, 7th Day DT All Day

  • Minimum Hours for Full Time OT
