Enter Actual Environments screen

Use the Enter Actual Environments screen to review, update, and enter actual environments that significantly affected Key Business Indicators (KBIs). Actual environments are unique circumstances that affect KBIs and demand. You might have created a number of environments and designated KBIs as environmental for your property during the configuration process. Environments that were forecast during the planning process are automatically carried over as actual environments.

You can choose an environment for any KBI, for any day of the week. Entering actual environments enables RMS to accurately differentiate historical data that will be used in future forecasting.

Note: Environments that were forecast during the planning process are automatically carried over as actual environments.

Best practice: A designated user should review all actual environments to ensure that all environments that occurred are correctly applied and any forecast environments that did not occur are removed.

Controls

Actuals Period controls

Controls include:

  • Actuals Week—Select the period for which to view and apply environments to KBIs.

  • Current—Selects the current period.

  • Back/Forward (arrows)—Select the arrows to go to the previous or next period.

Multiple KBIs/Days

Opens the Apply Actual Environment(s) to KBI(s) dialog box where you can apply a forecast environment to multiple days.

KBI Type

Filters the table by one of the following options:

  • All

  • Calculated

  • Input

  • Percent of Base

  • Statistical

Default: All.

List of KBIs.

Default: Only KBIs configured as environmental are displayed.

Environments

Environments applied to KBIs on days of the week.

Select a configured environment from the drop-down list.
