Rebuilding cost structures in Budget Utilities
When data is imported into a dataset, it is automatically placed in the Fixed dollars portion of the cost structure, which resets the Rate portion of the cost structure to zero. With Rebuild Cost Structures, you can examine the budgeting methodology for line items and determine whether you can perform the reverse calculation to obtain the fixed amount.
For example, room total attendant wages for January are $10,000.00 for 1,000 hours. Rebuild Cost Structure allows you to assess the $10,000.00 for 1,000 hours and reconfigure to the following:
$10,000.00 ÷ 1,000 hours = $10.00
Because $10.00 becomes the rate of pay, you no longer have $10,000.00 as fixed value on the Job line. The new calculation is:
1,000 hours × $10.00 per hour = $10,000.00
During this process, the Rebuild Cost Structure utility analyzes every line in the budget and determines whether you can accommodate your budgeting methodology using fixed values. The process results in all fixed values being replaced with zero, all variable cost values being reset with the appropriate calculation, and total dollars equaling the fixed dollars that were imported into the system.

All fixed values are replaced with zero, and all variable cost values are reset with the appropriate calculation. Total dollars will equal the fixed dollars that were imported into the system.Note: There might be minor variances due to rounding.
