Working with multiple shifts in Employee Schedules

In the Employee Schedules screen, you can copy, cut, paste, or delete one or multiple shifts at the same time. Working with multiple shifts is especially helpful when you need to reschedule multiple shifts.

Copying shifts

To copy a single shift to multiple cells:

  1. Click a single shift to select it.

  2. To copy the shift, do one of the following:
    • Press Ctrl+C.

    • Right-click the cell and select Copy.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Copy button (  ). 

  3. Hold down the Ctrl or Shift keys while clicking each cell where you want to paste the shift.

  4. To paste the shift, do one of the following:
    • Press Ctrl+V.

    • Right-click the cells and select Paste.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Paste into button (  ).

The shift is copied to the multiple cells.

To copy multiple shifts to multiple cells:

  1. Select multiple shifts by holding down the Ctrl or Shift key while clicking each shift.

  2. To copy the shifts, do one of the following:
    • Press Ctrl+C.

    • Right-click the cell and select Copy.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Copy button (  ). 

  3. Hold down theCtrl or Shift keys while clicking each cell where you want to paste the shift.

  4. To paste the shifts, do one of the following:

    • Press Ctrl+V.

    • Right-click the cell and select Paste.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Paste into button (  ).

The shifts are copied to the multiple cells.

Cutting and pasting shifts

  1. Select multiple shifts by holding down the Ctrl or Shift key while clicking each shift.

  2. To cut the shifts, do one of the following:

    • Press Ctrl+X.

    • Right-click the shift and select Cut.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Cut button (  ). 
      The outline of the shift cell changes to indicate that it is ready to be pasted.

  3. Click the cells where you want to paste the cut shifts.

  4. To paste the cut shifts, do one of the following:

    • Press Ctrl+V.

    • Right-click the cells and select Paste.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Paste into button (  ).

The shifts are pasted to the cells.

Deleting shifts

  1. Select multiple shifts by holding down the Ctrl or Shift key while clicking each shift.

  2. To delete the shifts, do one of the following:

    • Press Delete.

    • Right-click the shifts and select Delete.

    • In the shift operations section, click the Delete button (  ).

  3. The shifts are removed from the schedule.
