Importing multiple users

The bulk import feature in Training allows administrators to import multiple users into the LMS at once. Use this feature to quickly add a large number of users and link them to groups. Valid file types include XLSX, CSV, and XLS.

Prerequisite: Before adding a batch of users, you must create file with information for all users you want to upload. Each user's full name and identifier is required.

Note: There is no requirement for a specific format in the import file. The bulk import tool allows you to select which column matches the relevant information.

  6. Review all information for the imported users. You will see a preview of the first 10 rows from your import file. This helps verify that the data is correct before importing.

    • Important fields to verify:

      • Full Name—The full name of the user.

      • Identifier (username)—This should be either a username or email address.

    • Options to confirm before importing:

      • Do not import the first row (headings)—If your import file has headers, select this checkbox to avoid importing the first row as a user.

      • The identifier field is also the user’s email address—Select this checkbox if the identifier (username) in your import file is the user’s email address.

    • Make sure the data is correct and the columns match the expected format.

  7. Finalize all settings.

  8. After reviewing the preview, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select IMPORT.
