Add-Edit Shift dialog box

With the Add/Edit Shift dialog boxes, you can change and/or adjust shift records to correct shift errors. The Add Shift dialog box has the same fields as the Edit Shift dialog box.

Note: You will not be able to add shifts to employees who are on a leave of absence or otherwise designated as inactive in Status tab of Employee Maintenance.

Fields on the Add-Edit Shift dialog box

Field Description Notes
General tab

Shift Date

Date for the new shift.

Required.

Job

Job that the employee will work for the shift.

Required.

Shift Category

Shift category for the shift.

Required.

Notes

Enter notes to attach to the shift.


Punches tab

In

Start time for the shift.

Either enter the time in the field or select the time from the fly-out menu (  ).

Required.

Out

End time for the shift.

Either enter the time in the field or select the time from the fly-out menu (  ).

Required.

Add Break

Opens the Add Break dialog box where you can enter start and end times for the employee's break.

 

Break information table

The table includes information for all entered breaks.

 
Adjustments tab

Add Adjustment

Opens a dialog box where you can create adjustments to add to the shift.

Adjustments table

The table displays information related to adjustments created using the Add Adjustment dialog box.

 
Details section

Worked Hours

Number of worked hours for the period.

Read-only.

Adjustments

Number of adjusted hours.

Read-only.

Total Hours

Total number of hours, including any adjustments that were made.

Read-only.

Created on

Date and time when the new shift was created.

Read-only.

Approved on

Date and time when the shift was approved.

Read-only.

Available only in Edit Shift.

Approved by

Manager or administrative user who approved the shift.

Read-only..

Available only in Edit Shift.

Problem

Displays any errors to fix or tasks to complete before the new shift can be created.

Read-only.

Buttons

Cancel

Closes the dialog box without applying your changes.


Save Unapproved

Creates the shift as an unapproved shift and closes the dialog box.


Save & Approve

Creates the shift as an approved shift and closes the dialog box.
