Editing shifts in Timeline Scheduling
In both Job and Employee views, you edit a shift to change the shift details and assignments.

In the upper-left corner of the screen, select Access your applications (
).
The menu expands. -
Select Labor > Timeline Scheduling.
The Timeline Scheduling screen appears.

Do one of the following:
Double-click the shift bar of the shift you want to edit.
The Edit Shift dialog box appears.
or
Select the shift bar that you want to edit.
An action menu appears below the shift bar.Select Edit Shifts (
).
The Edit Shift dialog box appears.

Complete the fields as necessary.

Fields on the Add Shift dialog box
Field Description Notes Shift Date
Date of the shift.
Select the date from the drop-down list.
Default: First date of selected period.
Start Time
Start time of the shift.
Default: Blank.
End Time
End time of the shift.
Default: Blank.
Job
Job type for the shift.
An example of a job is Laundry Worker.
Default: Blank.
You must select a Start Time and an End Time for this field to become available.
Assignment
Type of assignment or task for the selected job.
An example assignment for a Laundry Worker job is Washer.
Default: None.
This field is only available if the selected job has associated assignments.
Shift Category
Types of shifts (for example, Training)
Default: Default.
Save
Saves the new shift as an unscheduled shift.
Button is not available until you select:

Start Time

End Time

Job
Save and Schedule
Save and schedules the shift. Selecting this button opens the Fill Shift dialog box.

Button is not available until you select:

Cancel
Closes the dialog box without applying your changes.
Note: The Edit Shift dialog box contains the same fields as the Add Shift dialog box.

Do one of the following:
To save the shift:
Select Save.
The Edit Shift dialog box closes, and the schedule bar updates with the new information.
To save and fill the shift:
Select Save and Schedule.
The Fill Shift dialog box appears.Select the employee to whom you want to assign the shift.

The Fill Shift dialog box closes, and the shift bar in the schedule pane changes color and updates to display the employee's name.
