Assigning a work order in Maintenance

Note: If inventory management is integrated with maintenance at your property, the steps for assigning a work order will be the same in both Inventory and Maintenance.

If a work order is unassigned, you can assign it from the Work Order Console.

  1. From the main menu on the left side of the screen, select the Maintenance ( ) option. The Work Order Console appears.

  1. If necessary, use the search and filter options to find the work order.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To select from the vertical ellipsis () menu:

      1. Select the row of the work order that you want to assign.
        The work order details pane opens.

      2. In the upper-right corner of the pane, select the vertical ellipsis () button.

      3. From the drop-down list, select Assign to.
        The Select Staff dialog box appears. By default, only technicians are shown.

    • To select from the action menu:

      1. Select the checkbox in the row of the work order that you want to assign.
        The action menu appears in the lower-right corner of the console.

      2. In the action menu, select the assign () button.
        The Select Staff dialog box appears. By default, only technicians are shown.

  3. From the Department drop-down list, select the department associated with the assigned staff.

  4. From the Skills drop-down list, select the skills required to complete the assigned work order.

  5. From the Designation drop-down list, select the role associated with the staff who will complete the work order.

  6. From the Search field, enter the staff name whom the work order will be assigned.

  7. Check Select staff currently on shift, to select only staff members who are currently on shift.

  8. When you are finished making your selections, select Save.

    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  9. Select OK.

    The work order is assigned.
