Creating a work order in Maintenance

Note: If inventory management is integrated with maintenance at your property, the steps for creating a work order will be the same in both Inventory Management and Maintenance.

You create a work order to initiate, assign, and track maintenance tasks for assets in Maintenance.

  1. From the main menu on the left side of the screen, select the Maintenance ( ) option. The Work Order Console appears.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • From the menu on the left side of the screen, select Work Orders > New Work Order.
      The New Work Order screen appears.
      or

    • In the lower-right corner of the screen, select New Work Order ( ).
      The New Work Order screen appears.

  2. If necessary, select a property ( ) from the property drop-down list.

  3. From the Location ( ) drop-down list, select the location of the work order.

  4. From the Asset Category ( ) drop-down list, select the category to which the asset belongs.

  5. From the Asset ( ) drop-down list, select the name for the asset or enter it in the field.

  6. From the Work Order Description ( ) drop-down list, select the description for the work order. These descriptions are imported from Service to be used in Maintenance. Other descriptions are unique to Maintenance. You can select either a Service or Maintenance description for your work order.

  7. From the Priority () drop-down list, select the priority level for the work order.

  8. Complete the other optional field as necessary.

  9. Select Submit.
    The screen closes, and the work order is created.

  10. Select Go to Console.
    The Work Order Console appears, displaying your most recent work order at the top.
