Building a formula
In the Budgeting software, you can build a formula in a few different places:

Budget Configuration—When you configure charts, the formula builder is available when you select to Add/Edit Formulas.

Budget Tree—In the Line-Specific Options tab of the Edit Budget Line dialog box, the formula builder is available when you select a Percent as your Performance Measure.

Various fields allow you to build a formula. These fields include:

To build a formula:

Select the ... Line or Formula field.

From the drop-down list, select Add/Edit Formulas.

Selector Opens a drop-down list of available formulas to select.

Add New Clears the Formula Name field and Operations table so that you can add a new formula.

Delete
Deletes the selected formula.
A message appears to confirm the deletion.

Formula Name
Name of the selected formula.
If you are adding a new formula, the field is empty and highlighted with a red border.
Required.
If you are editing a budget line, a Calculation Type field also appears. Option include:

KBI
-
Budget Line

Add line(s)
Opens the Select KBI dialog box from which you select the KBIs to include in the formula.
The options that appear in the Select KBI dialog box depend on your system's configuration.

Operation
Mathematical operation to apply to the selected KBI on a line-by-line basis. Operations include:

÷—Division
Name
Name of the KBI selected from the Select KBI dialog box.
Read-only.
Names of KBIs only appear in the column after they are selected.

Formula Preview
Displays the selected formula or the formula that was created in the operations table.
Read-only.
Buttons 8
Cancel
Closes the dialog box without applying your changes.
Select
Applies the formula and closes the dialog box.

In the Formula Name field, type the name of the formula.

Select Add Line(s).
The Select KBIs dialog box appears. -
Select one or multiple KBIs to apply. You can either scroll through the list or use the Search field to find a KBI.
The Manage Budget Formulas dialog box closes, and your selected KBI(s) appear in the Edit Formula table. -

Task Steps Reorder lines
In the line you want to move, hover your mouse pointer over the Drag to reorder icon ( ) and drag to the desired position.
Add new lines

Select Add Line(s).
The Select KBIs dialog box appears. -
Select one or multiple KBIs to apply. You can either scroll through the list or use the Search field to find KBI.
The Manage Budget Formulas dialog box closes, and your selected KBI(s) appear at the bottom of the Edit Formula table.
Select Operations
Select the Operation type ( ) in front of each line of the formula.
For example, in the image below the AAA Departure line will be subtracted from the AAA Arrivals line.
Remove lines
In the line you want to remove from the formula, select the Remove icon ( ).
Note: As you update the formula, your changes are reflected in the Formula Preview section.

When you are finished building the formula, select Select.
The formula is applied to the selected chart.
