Employee Config Field Overrides
The Employee Config Field Overrides screen is used to customize which fields appear on the Employee Maintenance screen. From this screen, you can also choose which fields require data, determine the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the field, and create custom fields.
Fields on the Employee Field Override screen

Custom Fields | This section displays your custom fields that appear on the Employee Maintenance screen. | Use the arrows to collapse ( ) or expand ( ) the section. Default: Expanded |
Add Employee Custom Field | Opens the Add Employee Custom Field dialog box where you can create a custom field. Once created, the custom field appears in the selected category on the General tab of the Employee Maintenance screen. | |
Name | Name of the field. | |
Label | Name of the field as it appears on the Employee Maintenance screen. For example, you might choose a short description for the Name, such as Birthplace, but phrase the Label in the form of a question, such as In what city was the employee born? | |
Type | Determines how users enter data into the field. Types include:

Category | Section in which the field appears on the Employee Maintenance screen. For example, a question about emergency contacts appears in the Contact Information section. | |
Required | If selected, the field is a required field. Employee information cannot be entered or updated unless all required fields contain data. If you are importing employee records, the interface can not be completed without the required information. | |
Max. Length | The maximum number of characters a user can enter in the field on the Employee Maintenance screen. | |
Standard Fields | This section displays the standard fields that appear on the Employee Maintenance screen. | |
Field Name | Name of the field as it appears on the Employee Maintenance screen. For more information, seeField mappings to the Employee Maintenance screen. | Read-only. |
Category | Category in which the field appears on the Employee Maintenance screen. | Read-only. |
Visible | If selected, the field is visible on the Employee Maintenance screen. | |
Required | If selected, the field is a required field. Employee information cannot be entered or updated unless all required fields contain data. If you are importing employee records, the interface can not be completed without the required information. | |
