Activate and deactivating an asset

You can activate or deactivate an asset on the Asset Console screen of the Maintenance software. You activate an asset when it is acquired or becomes operational, ensuring that it is included in asset tracking and maintenance schedules. You deactivate an asset when it is retired, temporarily out of service, or no longer part of the active asset inventory.

  1. From the main menu on the left side of the screen, select the Maintenance ( ) option. The Work Order Console appears.

  2. From the Maintenance menu, select Assets ( ) > Asset Console. The Asset Console appears.

  1. If necessary, use the search and filter options to find the asset.

  2. Select the row of the asset that you want to activate or deactivate.
    The details pane opens.

  3. From the vertical ellipsis drop-down list in the upper-right corner of the details pane, select Activate or Deactivate.

    Note: If the asset is currently active, the menu option is Deactivate. If the asset is currently inactive, the menu option is Activate.

    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  4. Select OK.
    The asset is deactivated.
