Improvement

Time off requests cannot be created for inactive employees

The software now prevents time off requests (TORs) from being created for dates when an employee was not active.

If a request is entered for dates outside the employee’s active employment period, a resulting message indicates that the request cannot be completed because the employee was not active on the selected dates.

This validation applies to both the desktop and mobile applications.

Improvement

Employees can now cancel pending shift pickup requests in the Mobile App

Employees using the Unifocus Mobile App can now cancel employee selection shift pickup requests that are still pending manager approval.

A new Cancel option is available for eligible requests in the Waiting on Others tab of the My Shift Requests screen. When selected, employees can confirm the cancellation and optionally add a comment. Once canceled, the request status is reset, allowing the shift to be requested again if desired.

This enhancement applies only to employee selection pickup requests that have not yet been approved or denied by a manager.

Fixed Issue

Mobile App now blocks shift swap approvals that violate schedule restrictions

In some instances of previous releases, managers could approve shift swap requests in the Mobile App even when the swap violated a Max Hours On Day Schedule Restriction work rule.

The software has been updated so that when Strict Mode is enabled and a shift swap violates a schedule restriction, the Mobile App now blocks approval and displays the same violation behavior as the desktop application.

Note: This issue did not affect the desktop version of Employee Requests.

Improvements

New Enforce Full Giveaways configuration for the Mobile App

This release introduces a new Enforce Full Giveaways checkbox in the Mobile Configuration screen and applies its logic to the Mobile App, providing greater control over how giveaway requests are handled—particularly in union-compliant environments.

When this setting is enabled, employees submitting a give-away request through the My Schedules screen in the Mobile App will no longer be prompted to select Give Away Recipients. Instead, all eligible recipients will automatically be included. This behavior also applies to leave of absence (LOA) scenarios. When the setting is disabled, the previous behavior remains: employees are prompted to manually select recipients.

Note: If Giveaway Requests is not selected in the Mobile Configuration screen, the Enforce Full Giveaways option is automatically disabled.

These updates ensure consistent configuration behavior and support union-based scheduling policies.

New Features, Improvements

Enhanced configurability and redesign of the Peer Schedules screen in the Mobile App

This release of the Mobile App introduces significant improvements to the Peer Schedules screen in My Schedule.

The following improvements provide managers and administrative users with greater control over job visibility and enhancing user interaction with peer scheduling information:

  • Job filter customization—Administrative users can now specify which jobs appear in peer schedules through a new Peer Schedules Job Filter added to the Mobile Configuration screen. This filter allows selection among three settings:

    • Jobs Only—Show only jobs (job codes) that match the employee's. This is the default setting.

    • Jobs/Departments—Show only jobs (job codes) that match the employee's and also jobs within the same department as those jobs

    • All Jobs—Shows all jobs at the property.

The following improvements are designed to make scheduling more intuitive and user-friendly, allowing employees to efficiently manage and interact with their schedules and those of their peers.

  • Enhanced Peer Schedules user interface

    • A new Select Job dialog box enables employees to choose specific jobs for viewing schedules, enhancing focus and reducing clutter.

    • The Peer Schedules screen now displays schedules in a grid format, where shifts are shown as buttons. Selecting a shift pulls up a detailed drawer at the bottom of the screen with comprehensive shift details.

    • Peer schedules can now be viewed on days when employees are off.

  • Improved navigation and accessibility

    • The Peer Schedules screen includes a job filter and a date selector to refine the display of schedules according to specific jobs and dates.

    • Employees will see shifts for the selected job and date, displayed in a clear and organized manner, with all shifts starting on the chosen date available for easy viewing.

March 13, 2025

Fixed Issue

Resolved issue with confirmation for time off requests in the Mobile App

In some instances of previous releases, Mobile App users did not receive an alert when approving Time Off Requests (TOR) for full days. This alert is to ensure that managers are aware that approving the TOR will unassign the employee from any overlapping shifts, which will remain open for reassignment. Managers can choose to proceed with the approval or cancel to take no action.

The software has been updated so that users now receive the alert, as expected.

Fixed Issue

Resolved issue with swapping shifts

In some instances of previous releases, Mobile App users experienced issues where shifts available for swapping, particularly those for secondary jobs, were not consistently displayed.

The software has been updated to ensure that all accessible shifts, which do not conflict with users' schedules, are now properly displayed.
