Additional information
-
We support the current and the last three versions of both iOS and Android operating systems. Our apps are optimized exclusively for mobile devices, not tablets.
-
Operating systems are typically released annually. When selecting devices, consider the longevity of compatibility with these systems. Devices with lower specifications are more likely to be incompatible with new releases.
-
Devices that cannot be upgraded beyond the minimum required operating system should be budgeted for replacement within one year.
-
Before placing a bulk order, ensure that a device meeting the above specifications is procured and tested.
-
When implementing Mobile Device Management (MDM) on devices, apply the MDM to a test device first to confirm compatibility with applications, features, and notifications.
Time Clocks
Time Clock network requirements
Time Clock network and port requirements
Unifocus has simplified the network requirements for all our software services. All applications connect to the Unifocus network via standard HTTPS. Below are the ports that must be opened to the Unifocus network:
-
Access to Unifocus Time Clock Server IPs.
-
TCP Ports: 443 (Required).
If there are any firewalls or proxy servers on the client network, they must be configured to allow the Time Clocks to download applications / java files from the Unifocus network, as there will be occasional software updates that the Time Clock will need to download.
Important: Splash or landing pages must be disabled for the Time Clocks to connect.
Time Clocks must keep their time synchronized with a time server. Unifocus typically configures the Time Clocks to synchronize with our internal servers via HTTPS: Port 443, as noted above.
Unifocus Time Clocks can be configured to use dynamic (DHCP) IP addresses (preferred) or static IP addresses. The client’s local IT or network provider must determine which of the above protocols will be needed. If static IP addresses are to be used, Unifocus will require all the information below, unless otherwise noted:
-
IP Address
-
Sub Net Mask
-
Default Gateway
-
DNS 1
-
DNS 2
-
DNS 3 (Optional)
Note: Unifocus will provide the Time Clock’s MAC address to the local IT or network provider to whitelist the device if needed.
Technical specifications for Unifocus wireless Time Clocks
Unifocus also offers a wireless (Wi-Fi) version of our Touch Screen Time Clock, the requirements are the same as the regular wired version of the Time Clock as noted in the previous section.
Important: Splash or landing pages must be disabled for the wireless Time Clocks to connect.
Below are some specific specs as they apply to the Wi-Fi clocks.
-
DHCP: Supported, including static IP assignments.
-
WPA2: Supported.
-
EAP Encryption: Supported.
-
Wi-FI: For complete specifications for the Wi-Fi card used in Time Clocks, see the following webpage:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/centrino/centrino-ultimate-n-6300-brief.html
-
Communication: Two-way, primarily outbound as communication is initiated by the Time Clock.
-
Bands: IEEE 802.11abgn supported.
-
Proxy: Configurable.
