Improvement

Updated default columns in Employees view of Review Pay Period

The default columns displayed in the Employees view on the Review Pay Period screen have been updated to provide more relevant pay period and scheduling details. The new default columns include:

  • Employee Information: Name, Emp ID, Status, Pay Group, Pay Type, Points.

  • Actual Hours: Regular, OT, DT, Premium, Other Hours, Total.

  • Scheduled Hours: Regular, OT, DT, Total.

These changes are applied automatically when users access the Employees view.

Resolved file name issue with Import Earnings

In some instances of previous releases, the Import Earnings process in Review Pay Period did not allow file names that contained a period (.) punctuation mark.

The software has been updated to resolve this issue.

Improvement

Improved support for punch corrections across open pay periods

In previous releases, the punch corrections feature in the Time Clock was limited to the single open pay period configured in the property settings. As a result, employees were sometimes unable to submit corrections for valid missed punches in the current open pay period. With this update, the software now considers all open pay periods for a property, allowing employees to submit punch corrections for any eligible date within those periods. This ensures more accurate and flexible correction workflows for both employees and managers.

Resolved zero earning issue in time cards

In some instances of previous releases, when the max running value was set to 0 in the Day of Year Benefit Accrual work rule, employee time cards incorrectly displayed 0 as the earning.

The software has been updated so that when the max running value is set to 0 in the Day of Year Benefit Accrual work rule, employee time cards display no earnings, as expected.

Improvement

Clarity improvements to audit information for punch corrections

In previous releases of the Review Time Card screen, both accepted rejected punches and accepted punch corrections were recorded in the Audits tab as "Accepted Punch Correction."

To improve clarity and differentiate these actions:

  • When a rejected punch is accepted, the audit will now display "Accepted Rejected Punch."

  • When a punch correction is accepted, the audit will continue to show "Accepted Punch Correction."

This improvement ensures that users can easily distinguish between these two types of approvals.

In some instances of previous releases, when users tried to associate tip pool types to a tip pool, the date ranges did not correctly populate.

The software has been updated so the users can successfully associate tip pool types to tip pools.

New Feature

Filtering rejected punches in Review Pay Period

The Review Pay Period screen now includes a new Rejected tab that you can use to filter the employee list to only employees with pending rejected punches that have not been reviewed or acknowledged. The Rejected tab contains the following information:

  • Employee name

  • Employee ID

  • Status

  • Pay group

  • Pay type

  • Number of rejected punches, which is calculated as the total number of rejected punches for the employee during the selected period.

Note: The Rejected tab appears only for the current pay period.

Improvement

Updated default validation for time card earnings against accruals

In this release of the Review Time Card screen, the software now automatically validates new earnings against future approved accruals by default. This enhancement ensures that users cannot add more earning hours than the employee has accrued.

This functionality, previously available only by contacting your Unifocus Client Success Manager (CSM) to enable it, is now activated for all users.

Note: Contact your Unifocus Client Success Manager (CSM) if you would like to deactivate this default functionality.

Resolved tabbing issue for recalculating tip pools

In some instances of previous Tip Pools releases, users encountered an issue while trying to recalculate a tip pool. After entering a value and pressing the tab key, the entered value was deleted.

The software has been updated so that when users enter a value for tip pool recalculation and then press the tab key, the value remains in the field, as expected.

Pay rate in time cards displays two decimal places

In this release, the notes section of an employee's Review Time Card screen now displays the pay rate rounded to two decimal places.

Correct reason text in Rejected Punches tab of employee time cards

In some instances of previous releases of the Review Time Card screen, the Reason field on the Rejected Punches tab displayed incorrect information about the reason.

The Review Time Card software has been updated so that the Reason field on the Rejected Punches tab displays the correct information for the reason, as expected.

In previous releases, transactions in various modules and screens in Unifocus software were limited to 2100 active employees.

In this release, the software has been updated to increase the threshold for active employees processed in various transactions in Labor, Planning, Scheduling, and Time & Attendance.

In the Review Time Card screen, your column view preferences are now saved when changing dates to view different periods.

Confirmation message when approving all shifts

When you approve shifts on the Review Pay Period screen, the screen displays the following message:

This will approve all unapproved shifts for the employee that you have access to. Are you sure you wish to continue?

You must either cancel or confirm.

Options for exporting pay groups

In previous releases of the Review Pay Period screen, you could export only ZIP files from the Pay Period view.

In this release, the Export Pay Group section of the Pay Period view includes an Export as. zip toggle. By default, the toggle is turned on. If turned on, pay group files are compressed and exported as a single ZIP file. If turned off, each pay group is exported as an individual file.

Fixed Issue

Corrected amount and total calculation on time cards

In some instances of previous releases of the Review Time Card screen, the Job Summary tab included incorrect calculations of totals and amounts. The Amount field combined earnings and hours, rather than displaying each on separate lines. The Total Cost field included the cost of actual and scheduled hours, rather than only actual hours.

The software has been updated so that amounts are correctly calculated and displayed in appropriated labeled columns.

Restrictions on editing approved and paid time off requests

In this release of Review Pay Period, time off requests (TORs) that are approved, have distributed paid hours, and fall within a locked pay period can no longer be edited. If these conditions are met, all fields in the Time Off Request pane will become uneditable, the Submit Request button will be disabled, and only the Cancel button will remain active. Additionally, while the Distribute Hours button will remain functional, all editable fields in the pane will also be disabled. A notification in red at the top of the pane will alert users:

The following request has been approved and paid in a locked pay period. It cannot be edited.

User preferences are saved in employee time cards

In the Review Time Card screen, user preferences are now saved for future sessions. These saved preferences include:

  • Column position.

  • Column sort order.

  • Expanded or collapsed state of the details pane at the bottom of the screen.

Improvement

Pay period selector in employee time cards

The Review Time Card screen for each employee now includes a planning period selector. This improvement allows managers to change planning periods directly in the time card rather than returning to the Review Pay Period screen to select a different time frame.

Improvement

Additional time card details are available to all users

In a previous release, Unifocus introduced the following buttons on the Review Time Card screen:

  • View Employee Details—Selecting this button displays additional details about the selected employee.

  • View Effective Work Rules—Selecting this button displays all work rules associated with the selected employee.

These improvements, which allow managers to stay on the employee's time card and view critical information without going to other screens, were available by request only.

In this release, these buttons are available to all Time & Attendance users.
